House approves curriculum bill

The House on Thursday night gave final legislative approval to HB 34 by Dan Branch and Florence Shapiro, to include in the public high school curriculum instruction in methods of paying for postsecondary education and training. The House approved Senate amendments to the bill and sent it to the governor. 

The House also approved a conference committee report on HB 1555 by Senfronia Thompson and Rodney Ellis, which deals with the first day of instruction in certain school districts that provide additional days of instruction financed with local funds.
