NEA Representative Assembly June 30-July 5, Chicago, IL

The NEA Representative Assembly will be held June 30 – July 5, 2011, in Chicago, IL. Pre-convention activities begin on June 25, 2011. Additional RA schedule information will be posted as it becomes available on the NEA website.

Housing Deadline

Texas delegates will be housed at the Embassy Suites Downtown Lakefront (511 N. Columbus Dr.). This is an all-suite property and rooms include both a refrigerator and microwave. A complimentary breakfast is included in your room rate. Room rates are based on the number of occupants in each room. One night deposit including taxes and fees (currently 15.4%) would be: (1) single/double occupancy = $229.65, (2) triple occupancy = $265.42 and (3) quadruple occupancy = $300.04. The hotel RSVP deadline was May 18, 2011.


First Texas Caucus

All Texas Caucus meetings will be at the Embassy Suites Downtown Lakefront. There will be a New Delegates Orientation at 1:00 p.m. on June 30, 2011. The first Texas Caucus meeting will follow immediately at 1:30 p.m.

Friendship Night: 
July 2, 2011      6:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
This year’s Friendship Night promises to be both fun and memorable for those who enjoy music. NEA will host a live taping of the popular NPR radio broadcast “From The Top” with host Christopher O’Riley. This popular broadcasts showcases America’s highly talented young musicians. Food Bank (9:00 am – noon)

Habitat for Humanity and Habitat Restore
